Debbie Houle
12:15PM
Debbie Houle is an accomplished Cree vocalist and a founding member of the Juno-nominated Indigenous women’s group Asani, with whom she released two award-winning albums. A dynamic collaborator, she has performed widely with the soul-roots collective AV & the Inner City and collaborated with Maria Dunn on the On the River video ballad. Today, Debbie brings her decades of stage experience to a more intimate setting. Her 45-minute easy-listening acoustic set features a seamless blend of original songs and familiar covers, offering listeners a warm, soulful, and relaxed musical experience.
Jay Gilday
1:45PM & 3:15PM
A vagabond turned mailman, Jay Gilday has searched for himself in the depths of Folk, blues, traditional, rock and soul music. The quest continues as Jay takes his experiences as a half Dene, half Canadian Irish youth travelling the roads of Canada, the daily roller-coaster of work, family, and performance and weaves them into song. Jay’s live performance is executed with a trained voice and a passion to drive it backed up by a heavy hitting guitar, finger-style or flat-picked, your choice!
Jimmy Guiboche Trio
6:00PM
Edmonton blues veteran Jimmy Guiboche has spent over three decades earning a reputation as one of Alberta, Canada's premier blues figures as a sideman, band leader and promoter/producer. He is a mainstay at festivals across Western Canada as both a sideman and also as bandleader with his band Jimmy and the Sleepers. He has made his mark with his unique interpretation of classic blues stylings and was recognized for his contributions to the Edmonton blues scene in 2020 when he was inducted into the Edmonton Blues Hall of Fame in the performer category.
As a sideman and bandleader he has an impressive list of playing credits. He has shared the stage with many blues luminaries including James Harman, Cedric Burnside, Lazy Lester, Carol Fran, Jody Williams (Howlin’ Wolf) and Grammy award winner Donald Ray Johnson. His no-nonsense approach to the blues has yielded him respect as one who has studied the blues, internalized it and can play it back in a style that is both true to the old blues, yet new and refreshing.
Donita Large
7:15Pm & 8:30PM
Donita Large is a powerful Cree singer-songwriter and lifelong performer who has captivated audiences across North America with her soul-stirring vocals and storytelling that honors the voices and experiences of her ancestors. Following the chart-topping success of her debut single Going To Walk That Line, Donita is rising fast as an influential voice in Canadian music. Blending folk, blues, rock, country, and traditional Cree influences, her artistry is rooted in tradition and the stories of the land, yet remains unapologetically contemporary, creating a distinctive sound she describes as “folk with Indigenous sizzle.”
Donita’s voice has earned high praise from top industry professionals. Micah Barnes (Canada’s Got Talent vocal coach and member of The Nylons) shares: “Donita possesses one of those ‘one in a million’ voices which can travel from a powerful low range to spine-chilling high notes that seem to resonate in our very bloodstream.”
With the release of her highly anticipated album The Ancestors, Donita’s music is receiving radio play in Japan, Germany, Spain, France, the Netherlands, and across North America. Her work explores themes of truth, empowerment, and reconciliation - a tribute to healing and the power of Indigenous narratives through song. Fans often share that her music continues to resonate long after the final note. Donita Large creates more than music - she creates moments of connection, reflection, and spirit.
